# Telegram (user account)

> Use a personal Telegram account via MTProto.

Lets an agent act as your personal Telegram user: read your chats, send
messages, and manage contacts via MTProto.

Most bot-style use cases are better served by
[Telegram Bot](https://docs.flymy.ai/mcp/telegram-bot.md). Use this MCP only when you need actual
user-account capabilities (private DMs, reading history).

## What it can do

- Read chats and message history from your account
- Send messages and media on your behalf
- Manage contacts
- List your chat folders and the chats inside a folder - handy for running
outreach or digests scoped to one folder

## How to connect

No developer app or API keys are needed - you log in with your phone
number and the code Telegram sends you, just like signing in on a new
device.

1. Enter your **Account Phone Number** in international format (e.g.
   `+12345678900`).
2. Telegram sends a login **code** to your active sessions. FlyMyAI waits
for it, then asks for the next step.
3. Enter the **Confirmation Code** Telegram sent and your **Telegram
Password** (your two-factor / cloud password).
4. FlyMyAI finishes authorization and the account is connected.

## Fields to fill in FlyMyAI

| FlyMyAI field | Where it comes from |
| --- | --- |
| `Account Phone Number` | Your Telegram number in international format, e.g. `+12345678900` |
| `Confirmation Code` | Code Telegram sends to your account during login |
| `Telegram Password` | Your Telegram two-factor (cloud) password |

## Troubleshooting

- **"FLOOD_WAIT"** - Telegram rate-limited the account. Wait out the
cooldown; retrying sooner only extends it.
- **Login code never arrives** - make sure the phone number is correct
and check your other Telegram sessions for the code.
- **Session revoked** - you (or someone) logged the session out from
Telegram → Settings → Active Sessions. Reconnect the MCP.
